B.A. in Anthropology

Anthropology majors receive an education in all four fields of anthropology, giving them the skills and training that will enable them to live full and productive lives in our multicultural world. The curriculum leading to a degree in anthropology provides students with the background necessary to pursue graduate studies in anthropology, but is well-rounded and flexible enough to allow students to pursue graduate studies in other disciplines.

A BA in Anthropology requires 180 units, 82 of which are earned from General Education courses. The Anthropology major requires the completion of 62 units of coursework with an overall GPA in the major of at least 2.0. In addition to the 144 units of required General Education and Anthropology courses, students must earn another 36 units to obtain their degree. To earn these units, Anthropology majors have the option of pursuing another major or a minor in a different discipline or of taking free elective courses.
